1）These children personify all that is wrong with the education system.
这些儿童充分体现了教育制度的缺陷。
2）There are other coffee shops, but none that give you endless free refills.
其它的咖啡馆也不少，不过没有一家会不停地免费给你续咖啡。
3）We should spend the money on something that will benefit everyone.
我们应该把这笔钱花在大家都能得益的事上。
4）Some were difficult to type, and few that were given to them were wrong.
有些是很难输入的，并且有些他们被给予的是错误的。
5） There are some opportunities, but not many that offer a typical undergraduate the chance to consider such issues.
有一些，但不是很多机会可以让一般的本科生有机会考虑这样的问题。
2 当先行词被only、any、few、little、no、all、many、much等不定代词修饰时，如：
1）He is the only person that I can find who is able to solve the problem.
他是我能找到的唯一能解决这个问题的人。
2）It may be in your living room, or a hotel, or any place that you feel comfortable in.
可以在你的起居室，或酒店，或任何你在其中感到舒适的地方。
3）Because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited.
由于电视和全世界联网的计算机，人们现在可以了解很多他们从未去过的地方。
4）I prefer not to eat too much food that is fried.
我不喜欢吃太多油炸的食物。
3. 当先行词被序数词、形容词最高级以及the only, the very, the next, the last等修饰时，如：
1）Whenever a natural disaster happens, China is always the first country that offers material help. 每当自然灾害发生时，中国总是第一个提供物质援助的国家。
2）This is the most interesting story book that I have ever read.
这是我读过的一本最有趣的故事书。
3）The North Pole is the only place that you can see polar bears.
北极是你唯一能见到北极熊的地方。
4）You are the very man that can do the job well.
你正是能做好这项工作的人。
5）The next step that we need to do is to make sure that our children will be able to have a good learning environment.
下一步我们要做的是确保我们的孩子能够有一个良好的学习环境。
6）The last place that we visited was the Great Wall.
我们参观的最后一个地方是长城。
4. 当先行词既指人又指物时，如：
He told us many interesting things and persons that we had never heard.
他给我们讲了许多我们从来没有听说过的有趣的人和事。
5. 为了避免重复，当句子的前一部分中已出现which时，句子的后面部分通常用that来引导定语从句，如：
1）The story books which are popular with children are those books that interest them in terms of contents and ways of telling a story.
孩子们喜欢的故事书是那些在内容和讲故事的方式上让他们感兴趣的书。
2） The cities which will have a great potential to be welcomed by most people are those cities that offer a lot of job opportunities, and rich and colorful lifestyles.
有很大潜力受到大多数人欢迎的城市是那些能提供大量就业机会和丰富多彩的生活方式的城市。
6. 当主句是以who、which引导的特殊疑问句时，关系代词通常只用that，如：
1）Who is the man that is standing over there?
站在那边的那个男人是谁？
2）Which is the house that caught fire last night?
昨晚失火的是哪座房子？
